Job summary

SOL Mental Health is seeking a physician leader to provide medical direction and supervision for Medicare patients in a collaborative, clinician-centered team. The role supports a hybrid work model with strong clinical community and admin/marketing support.

The ideal candidate will hold an MD with an active license in DC/MD/VA, have DEA registration, and 3+ years of medical direction experience. Board certification/eligibility in General Psychiatry is required; geriatric/consult liaison is a

Qualifications

• MD with an active, unrestricted medical license in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
• Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
• 3+ years of experience providing medical direction and supervision, particularly with Medicare patients.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry.
• Board certification or eligibility in Geriatric Psychiatry or Consult/Liaison preferred.
• IMLC participation is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Structured Care Review (SCR) to primary treating clinician (avg 32 hours/week, 6–10 reviews/hour) for Medicare patients.
• Recommend treatment adjustments, including medications and orders, or approved clinical protocols.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Work with adults, young adults, and/or children.
• Support patients in crisis with appropriate interventions.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation.
