Job summary

Rheem North America in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Compliance Engineer III (Hardware Controls) to ensure products meet UL safety standards and FCC EMC/EMI/RF regulations. You will lead compliance planning across the product lifecycle, coordinating with design, hardware, and firmware teams to define requirements and mitigate risks early in development.

Hybrid work with Monday-Thursday in office, Friday remote; relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of experience with electronic controls development including compliance management.
• Experience interpreting government/agency regulations (UL, FCC, CSA, CE, etc.).
• Able to coordinate with R&D, marketing, manufacturing, service engineering, suppliers, and customers.
• Technical knowledge of PCB design and compliance testing methods.
• Experience with change control of manufactured components requiring compliance management.

Responsibilities

• Develop controls compliance certification test plans and document results with agencies.
• Prepare test plans and coordinate internal pre-compliance evaluations and third-party labs.
• Lead cross-functional teams to capture compliance activities and bring compliant products into production.
• Participate in formal design reviews of electronic controls requirements, schematics, PCB layouts, FMEA, DFM, DFT.
• Support review and release of formal requirements, design, and qualification documentation.
• Oversee technical aspects of qualification builds with contract manufacturers.
