Job summary

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop and manage content across digital and print platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.

You will work closely with department leadership, alumni, donors, and campus partners to tell impactful stories, support advancement and outreach, and promote events and community engagement. Part-time, 50%.

Qualifications

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication ability.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience with website content management systems (WordPress).
  • Proficiency with social media tools and communications strategy.
  • Experience in communications, marketing, and web design.
  • Preferred: experience developing or enforcing digital accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

  • Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and platforms.
  • Communicates with stakeholders to verify requests and identify editorial resources.
  • Provide planning, communications, and logistical support for departmental and clinic events.
  • Monitors reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns, projects, and initiatives.
  • Plans editorial content according to established goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership and the UW Foundation to develop and implement communication strategies.
  • Provides project management and execution of communications programs and tactical plans.
