Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking Underwriting Analysts at multiple levels to join our Commercial Lines Underwriting team in a hybrid setting with 2 days remote and 3 in office. The role focuses on evaluating risks, supporting agency partners, and driving profitable growth across the underwriting portfolio.

Positions range from Analyst I to III, with increasing responsibility in underwriting multiple lines of business and providing guidance to junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn commercial insurance concepts and underwriting principles.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and underwrite commercial lines new business submissions.
• Analyze risk characteristics, coverage needs, and pricing factors.
• Verify insured operations and exposures to ensure underwriting accuracy.
• Review Loss Control inspection reports and determine underwriting actions.
• Process endorsements and servicing requests for existing accounts.
