Job summary

John Crane, a Smiths Group company, seeks a hybrid Operator/Programmer to balance hands-on machining with offline CNC programming. You will troubleshoot production programs, develop offline plans for bottlenecks, and support new product introductions while optimizing cycle times and machine utilization.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating lathes, mills, and CNC machines, and collaborating across teams to meet quality standards and delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in EIA G-code editing and Mazatrol programming/editing.
• Associates or technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years’ work experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of EdgeCam or Fusion 360 preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve production program issues on the shop floor.
• Develop offline CNC programs for critical paths or bottlenecks.
• Support new product introductions and project-related programming activities.
• Improve programming efficiency to optimize cycle times and throughput.
• Set up and operate lathes, mills, and CNC machines safely and efficiently.
