Job summary

Google seeks a Security Engineer to join the Hybrid Cloud Environments team in Seattle, WA. You will help protect Google Cloud workloads, implement safe-by-default guardrails, and collaborate with product, security, and engineering teams.

You will own security incidents, design features for autonomous agents, and drive risk reduction across complex systems while adhering to enterprise security baselines and developer friction minimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
• Experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Complete scoped engineering tasks and improve security tools within larger projects.
• Perform risk assessments and elevate complex issues to senior engineers.
• Utilize agentic development tools and AI assistants to accelerate coding, testing, and analysis tasks.
• Implement security features and hardening for platforms supporting autonomous agents or secure sandboxes.
