Job summary

Newberry Group is seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architect to support our DISA customer. The role provides specialized cybersecurity architecture and engineering guidance for modern cloud and cloud-native DoD environments, serving as a technical security consultant to Mission Partners, system owners, architects, developers, ISSMs, and ISSOs.

This position requires a DoD Top Secret clearance, 10+ years of related experience, and the ability to translate RMF and NIST requirements into

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in cybersecurity architecture.
• Experience with cloud security architecture for DoD environments.
• Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-37 and 800-53.
• DoD 8140 Security Architect Certification (one of listed).
• Top Secret clearance required.
• Hybrid onsite schedule near Fort Meade, MD.

Responsibilities

• Design secure cloud architectures and review designs for cloud, hybrid, and cloud-native environments.
• Provide security guidance for APIs, microservices, containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless functions.
• Translate RMF/NIST and DoD requirements into actionable cloud engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders during requirements development and modernization efforts.
• Support vulnerability remediation and mitigation strategies.
• Communicate architectural risks and mitigations to Government stakeholders.
