Job summary

Foxhole Technology in Virginia is seeking a Software Engineer to refactor monoliths, build secure REST APIs and microservices, and implement event-driven integrations on OCI. This is a hands-on role for early-career developers who thrive in agile teams and grow through modernization work.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in enterprise software, experience with .NET or Java, RESTful APIs, React/Next.js, OCI deployments, and secure coding practices; DoD secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications.
• Experience with .NET and/or Java development, including ASP.NET Core, Spring Boot, or NestJS, and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with React and/or Next.js and modern web application architectures.
• Experience deploying applications in OCI or another major cloud (AWS/Azure), including Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledge of secure application development, including OAuth2/OIDC and RBAC.
• Experience in Agile environments with strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement user stories, fix defects, and refactor legacy code into maintainable modules and microservices.
• Build RESTful services and document contracts with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Deploy and manage apps on OCI, utilizing Compute, Object Storage, and VCN.
• Implement reliable service-to-service communications and event-driven data flows.
• Write unit and integration tests; contribute to code reviews and pipelines; containerize apps with Docker; assist Kubernetes deployments.
