Job summary

UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is seeking a Clinical Nurse Outpatient for General Oncology at LBJ Hospital. This hybrid, outpatient role supports patient care coordination and education across Medical Oncology teams.

Requirements include a BSN and at least two years of oncology nursing experience (ambulatory or acute care). Texas RN license, BLS, CPR, ACLS/PALS as applicable; OCN certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Two years of oncology nursing experience (ambulatory and/or acute care).
• RN license in Texas, BLS, CPR, ACLS and PALS as applicable.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate entry of patients into the cancer program and act as contact for physicians and referrals.
• Provide individualized assistance to patients and families in coordination and communication of the care plan.
• Initiate and document patient teaching related to diagnosis, treatment plans, and symptom management.
• Perform telephone triage and assess patient concerns for timely intervention and follow-up.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate and maintain patient care plans.
• Serve as liaison between oncologists and referring providers to support continuity of care.
