Job summary

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian for a part-time, hybrid role (50% remote) in Hayward, CA. The position offers flexible scheduling with 1-2 onsite visits weekly and travel time compensation.

You will conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, develop care plans, educate patients, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while ensuring CMS/DOH compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Dietetics from an accredited program.
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Current state licensure/certification (if mandated).
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to develop and monitor improvement plans.
• Proficiency in providing general nutrition interventions.
• Familiarity with state survey processes and nutrition regulations.
• Competency in electronic charting systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for new admissions and quarterly reviews.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Ensure compliance with CMS and DOH regulations.
• Monitor weight changes weekly/monthly to assess nutrition status.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition care and resident outcomes.
• Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits and document findings.
• Review and approve menu to meet USDA guidelines.
• Perform other tasks within scope as needed.
