Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking a skilled Claims Manager – Casualty Programs to lead a team within North America Claims. You will oversee investigations, coverage analysis, and strategy development, collaborating with underwriters, insureds, and external partners.

The role reports to the Head of North America Programs Claims and involves managing costs and vendor relations. Ideal candidates have 5–10+ years in casualty claims management, strong leadership, and analytical abilities.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of claims management experience in Casualty and/or Specialty Lines.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
• Strong analytical, negotiating, and writing skills.
• Juris Doctor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage claims including investigation, analysis and evaluation of coverage, liability and damages.
• Provide technical guidance and training to reports and TPAs.
• Recruit, hire and develop staff with succession plans.
• Review claims to determine loss nature, coverage, and settlements; guide strategic direction.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners; manage litigation where applicable.
