Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers is expanding its Civil team in the Denver area, seeking a Civil Project Engineer with hands-on experience in grading, drainage, utilities, and hydrology. You will collaborate with LA Civil team members and Denver colleagues, applying local permitting knowledge and contributing to a growing Colorado practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Approximately four or more years of relevant civil/site development experience; depth valued over years.
• Hands-on experience delivering Denver-area civil projects and familiarity with local agencies.
• Experience coordinating permit submittals and responding to agency review comments.
• Strong civil/site design experience including grading, drainage, utilities, and hydrology.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience preferred.
• Experience communicating with clients, agencies, consultants, and project teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and support civil/site development from planning through permitting and construction.
• Prepare grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, and related civil designs.
• Contribute to hydrology studies, drainage analyses, and stormwater modeling.
• Prepare Civil 3D models and design documentation including surfaces and earthwork.
• Navigate permitting processes across Denver area with municipalities and authorities.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, agencies, consultants, and teams.
• Support diverse civil/site projects including institutional and healthcare facilities.
• Own technical assignments while coordinating with project managers.
