Responsibilities

• Investigate allegations of child abuse, neglect, and/or dependency.
• Meet with family members to determine merits of reports.
• Gather information from school/medical staff and other parties.
• Complete detailed assessments based on home visits and meetings.
• Create case plans to address issues and support family goals.
• Refer families to community resources to ensure child safety and wellbeing.
• Enter case information into the computer.
• Complete court reports as needed.
• Provide testimony during hearings.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, schools, counselors, and shelters.
