Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Category Management Analyst to support category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship initiatives. The role involves analyzing internal and external data, forecasting spend, and evaluating supplier performance to drive operational and financial improvements.

You will partner with stakeholders to develop and execute strategies, model value opportunities, and help ensure compliance with contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Supply Chain operations, finance or other business operations preferred.
• Experience translating detailed information into succinct findings and action plans with long-term implications.
• Experience in category management, strategic sourcing and/or supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources to support category management and strategic sourcing.
• Prepare cost/benefit assessments and model historical and emerging trends to predict future conditions.
• Develop supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
• Support the development of long‑term strategic category plans.
• Assist in executing category improvement strategies, strategic sourcing activities, and supplier evaluations.
