Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) seeks a Career Advisor to support regional campus career development initiatives from planning to execution, aligning with programs and industry trends for maximum placement.

Collaborating with Career Services Employer Relations and Enrollment Management, you will support online, hybrid, and face-to-face programs, delivering best-in-class services to empower students as lifelong learners beyond TSTC.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Education, Business Administration, Psychology, or other related field.
• 2 years of required experience in exceptional customer service experience. 3 years preferred.
• 2 years of required experience in program coordination and deployment. 3 years preferred.
• 2 years of required experience in case management. 3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and members of the community.
• Educate and empower students on the journey to life beyond TSTC; provide one-on-one, group or drop-in career advising on resume writing, job search strategies, interview prep, and professional development.
• Actively engage with Career Services platforms and educate students on optimization practices.
• Facilitate active learning workshops, seminars, and events to promote career readiness and participate in career fairs, employer panels, and networking opportunities.
• Provide personalized career advising using holistic caseload approaches.
• Assist in deploying and collecting placement surveys and data; give feedback to improve the process.
• Build relationships with faculty and staff to align career services with campus goals and initiatives.
• Participate in training and professional development to enhance student experience and placement opportunities.
• Assist in executing career fairs, employer panels, and related events online, hybrid and on-site; develop engaging workshops.
