Job summary

nVent is seeking a CAD Drafter to prepare detailed drawings from specs and sketches, using SolidWorks and ERP systems. You will build drawing packets, ensure design consistency, and update plans per customer or project manager requests. Strong drafting background with SolidWorks proficiency is preferred.

The role requires collaboration in a hybrid environment and a focus on accurate documentation and logs to support project tracking and delivery.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 5+ years of proven CAD experience.
3 years in a CAD department preferred; SolidWorks experience strongly preferred.
Ability to read safety and operating procedures; write routine reports.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from project specifications, sketches, or notes.
Build final drawing packets based on Trachte job specifications, ensuring consistency in design standards, dimensions, scaling, and CAD operations.
Make adjustments or changes as requested by the customer or Project Manager.
Use CAD software (SolidWorks) and equipment to build technical drawings.
Maintain job logs and historical references to support project tracking and documentation.
