Job summary

Ascendo Resources seeks an experienced Commercial Banking Lender focused on Commercial & Industrial lending. The role develops new business, manages a loan portfolio, and analyzes loan requests of varying complexity.

The ideal candidate brings strong credit expertise, relationship management, and collaboration with underwriting and credit teams. Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite at NJ locations. EOE.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial lending experience with a C&I emphasis.
• Completion of formal credit training or bank-sponsored credit program.
• Strong financial analysis skills and ability to use financial analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and cultivate new commercial banking relationships to grow the loan portfolio.
• Interview loan applicants and analyze financial statements, collateral, and credit data.
• Structure loan terms and recommend approvals within lending guidelines.
• Coordinate underwriting, including risk ratings, covenant compliance, and financial analysis.
• Manage renewals, modifications, and servicing of commercial loans.
• Maintain and expand an assigned portfolio of commercial clients.
• Monitor delinquencies and evaluate problem loans; recommend restructuring strategies.
• Conduct annual reviews and ensure timely documentation and compliance.
• Cross-sell banking products and services to strengthen client relationships.
• Stay informed on economic, financial, and legislative trends impacting commercial lending.
• Assist with reporting, forecasting, and portfolio management.
