Job summary

Gresham Smith in Nashville seeks a Broadband Engineer to lead outside plant fiber, copper, and coaxial cable projects. You’ll design, route, and specify components, and help with highway relocation plans for DOT projects.

Required are a PE or ability to become licensed within 12 months, 5–10 years in OSP, and strong communication skills. Hybrid work in Nashville is offered with a collaborative, community-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in Fiber Optic, Copper, and/or Coaxial Cable Outside Plant design.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform broadband/telecommunications engineering for OSP.
• Develop engineering deliverables: line routing, plan/profile drawings, equipment specs, calculations.
• Provide relocation engineering for highway/State DOT projects.
• Support ITS broadband elements design and make-ready studies.
