Job summary

State of South Carolina, Department of Public Health, seeks an epidemiologist to oversee BRFSS administration, survey design, and budget management, ensuring timely data delivery to internal teams and external partners alike.

Under supervision of the Senior MCH Epidemiologist, you will design studies, coordinate analyses, and translate findings into reports, dashboards, and presentations to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Public Health or epidemiology required.
• Doctoral degree can substitute for experience.
• Experience with BRFSS or population health surveillance preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer BRFSS in South Carolina, including grant applications, budget monitoring, and survey operations.
• Design and conduct epidemiological studies using BRFSS and related data.
• Analyze data for internal and external dissemination and publish findings.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists and data scientists to develop health projects and data linkages.
• Perform related duties and travel as needed, including emergencies.
