Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Public Health is seeking a Senior Epidemiologist to oversee the BRFSS program, including questionnaire development, survey methodology, and contract and budget management. You will perform epidemiological analyses, disseminate BRFSS and related health data, and provide analytic insights to stakeholders.

Collaboration with other epidemiologists and travel for emergencies may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or doctoral equivalent in public health or epidemiology.
• Experience with BRFSS or population health surveillance is preferred.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers BRFSS program including coordination of questionnaire development, survey methodology, and contract management.
• Performs epidemiological analysis of BRFSS data and supports external stakeholders.
• Collaborates with epidemiologists and data scientists on projects improving health outcomes.
• Travel as required and potential emergencies outside normal hours.
