Onward Search is seeking a Book Designer for a leading publisher in New York City. The role is onsite Monday-Thursday with remote Fridays optional, offering a dynamic team environment and exposure to hardcover and paperback projects.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of book design experience, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and strong typography and layout skills, plus good communication and print production familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional book design experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong typography and layout skills.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Familiarity with print production processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine layouts for hardcover and paperback books, ensuring design consistency.
• Make corrections to reprints and prepare mechanical files for production.
• Present design concepts and revisions to art directors and editors for feedback.
• Collaborate with team members and external departments to meet project deadlines.
• Support the design team with various tasks related to book development and production.
