Job summary

OMG Technology is seeking a Bioinformatics Engineer in San Diego for a hybrid, 6+ month contract. You will design analyses, collect requirements, develop software modules, and help integrate pipelines. Collaboration across cross-functional teams and strong communication are essential.

You will contribute to scientific outputs and ensure compliance with Quality policies while traveling up to 15% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in software or related field.
• 4+ years of experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience with JIRA and Smartsheet for ticketing and progress tracking.
• Knowledge of coding and documentation best practices.
• Knowledge of molecular biology/biochemistry/NGS/genomics.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement bioinformatics analyses to support assay development and testing.
• Collect and document product and software requirements from analyses.
• Design software modules based on data analysis requirements.
• Assist with integration of modules into pipelines.
• Automate data analyses with software modules.
• Prepare information for abstracts, conferences and meetings.
• Identify trends in study data and report findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
• Adhere to Quality Management System policies and procedures.
• Ability to travel up to 15% as needed.
