Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• 2+ years of medical insurance verification experience.
• Knowledge of insurance benefit verification requirements, guidelines and policies, including pre-authorization.
• Experience in a health care related industry.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and prior authorizations for procedures.
• Act as an advocate for customers regarding coverage.
• Contact insurance carriers for benefit coverage, authorization and pre-certifications.
• Obtain authorizations for Interventional Urology products as needed.
• Educate customers and providers on referral and authorization requirements and payer guidelines.
• Coordinate appeals if required by payer.
• Communicate reimbursement topics clearly to office staff and patients.
• Handle calls about the verification process with professional courtesy.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
