Job summary

UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital in Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Navigator I to support the PsychCare+ team. This hybrid position begins with in-office work for the initial months and requires rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, plus one weekend shift every other weekend and four major/minor holidays per year.

• Knowledge of DSMV and ability to develop provisional diagnoses.
• Ability to triage and assess patients for medical necessity or outpatient care.
• Experience in coordinating inpatient admissions and referrals.

• Meet documentation standards and complete paperwork for admissions and evaluations.
• Utilize DSMV to develop provisional diagnoses and review inpatient commitment for accuracy.
• Obtain authorizations and understand insurance processes as needed.
