Benchling is rebuilding biotech for the AI era. Our Release Engineering team creates tools and frameworks that help engineers ship changes to Benchling’s customers, while improving developer experience and efficiency across our workflows.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and peers to ship high-quality software and help scale our product and team. This role emphasizes ownership, problem solving, and a passion for life sciences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Product-first mindset; ship code quickly with real-world impact.
• Experience with at least one web framework (Node.js or Python).
• Strong problem solving and iteration skills.
• Willingness to learn life sciences.

Responsibilities

• Build tooling for efficient, frictionless development, testing, and packaging for production release.
• Iterate on developer experience improvements using qualitative and quantitative feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address engineering workflow challenges.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and peers to make Benchling a delightful place to develop software.
• Help rapidly scale our product and team; mature tooling, practices, processes, and hiring.
