Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a capable engineer to design instrumentation and control systems, developing P&IDs and control descriptions for programming. You will review shop drawings, assist with testing, and guide junior staff while supporting proposals and marketing initiatives.

20%–40% travel may be required across domestic and international sites. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and about 5 years of related experience, with strong PLC/HMI skills and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Creates basic to moderately complex instrumentation, controls and related systems designs using 3D and 4D design practices.
• Reviews basic to highly complex component level shop drawings and contractor clarifications; assists with testing oversight.
• Develops P&IDs, control system architectures, specifications and control descriptions for programming.
• Leads staff and mentors junior staff; reviews their work.
• Supports proposal preparation and marketing activities as directed.
• Performs other duties as required.
