Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Director, Innovation to partner with leaders across the organization to optimize the value of AbbVie’s portfolio and advance strategic initiatives in biopharma. The role emphasizes collaboration with the IIT group to drive mission-critical projects and leadership in a matrixed environment.

The position involves strategic planning, scenario evaluation, and data-driven problem solving across drug development, manufacturing, and trials, with a hybrid onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree required.
• Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
• Minimum years of experience: 6+ with Bachelors, 4+ with Masters, 2+ with Doctorate.
• Experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical consulting is highly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to lead meetings with senior management.
• Experience leading large projects in a complex pharmaceutical organization.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end strategic innovation and execution on AbbVie's highest priority assets.
• Support strategic initiatives addressing mission-critical questions for AbbVie’s future.
• Lead modules within cross-functional initiatives and distill recommendations for leadership.
• Monitor external trends to inform AbbVie’s strategy and responses.
