Job summary

Digital Counsel, a New York-based creative agency, seeks a copywriter with a strong grasp of the language and energy of the contemporary art world to translate complex ideas into clear, concise content across digital platforms.

You will tailor language and tone for institutional, public, or social contexts, collaborate with the accounts and creative teams, and coordinate editorial articles from pitch to publication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional digital copywriting experience in arts, culture, or creative marketing.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary art and culture with ability to write for fast-turn social and long-form editorial formats.
• Familiarity with CMS, email platforms, analytics, and project management tools.
• Portfolio demonstrating writing for art, culture, or related fields across social campaigns and editorial work.

Responsibilities

• Write and refine copy for digital channels across social, video scripts, artist profiles, project and exhibition descriptions, editorial features, interviews, SEO-optimised content, newsletters, and marketing decks.
• Collaborate with artists, writers, editors, and designers to produce campaigns reflecting authentic voices.
• Coordinate editorial commissions from briefs to publication on web and social.
• Manage web publishing using a CMS and ensure content goes live with quality control.
• Communicate status and feedback to stakeholders in real time.
• Adapt tone across institutional, public, and social contexts.
• Ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand voice across communications.
• Proactively meet deadlines and manage multiple editorial projects.
