Job summary

Caltrans is seeking an Application and Software Developer to maintain and enhance the agency’s IT portfolio. The role involves analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of web applications using Apex, Java, and SQL in cloud-based environments.

You will work within an IT team to implement system changes, monitor performance, and ensure security and governance in AI-enabled solutions. Hybrid work in Sacramento is available.

Qualifications

• Requires experience in analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of Caltrans applications.
• Experience with cloud-based or SaaS environments and integrating systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted GenAI platforms and data pipelines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop interfaces between systems and configure web applications.
• Develop, customize, test, support, and maintain web apps using listed tech.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in project planning and oversight.
