Job summary

University of Michigan Michigan Medicine seeks an Andrologist to manage daily operations of the Andrology and Endocrine portion of the ART lab, including reproductive hormone testing and andrology diagnostics.

You will work with a team of fertility professionals, participate in QM/QC/QA/QI, perform semen analysis, sperm preparation for IUI/IVF, cryopreservation, and assist in training staff and residents. Hybrid/onsite work with opportunities for translational research and cross-training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 weeks work or training in an assisted reproductive clinical lab.
• Adhere to laboratory policy and procedures.
• Good documentation practice.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in quality and data management is required.
• Familiar with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative clinical analyses using automated and non-automated methods.
• Consult with physicians on test result correlations with disease states.
• Conduct quality control tests and maintain data records.
• Assess QC data and take corrective actions as needed.
• Recognize unusual laboratory results.
• Travel to hospital OR or other sites to assist with sperm identification.
• Onboard and train new staff.
• Instruct residents and students in procedures.
• Assist in R&D of new methods and procedures.
• Process patient care orders in LIS or electronic system when required.
• Handle related duties in the specified lab sections.
