Job summary

Apple Federal Credit Union in Fairfax, VA is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer II for a hybrid role. You will design, build, and operationalize AI-powered data experiences for staff, leveraging governed data to deliver accurate, explainable answers.

You will own AI tooling selection, Azure compute patterns, and cross‑team integrations, collaborating with Data Engineering and Cyber/IT governance to ensure privacy, security, and governance while enabling measurable self‑service usage.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of software, data engineering, or applied AI engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python (and/or C#) and modern engineering practices (Git, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, observability).
• Strong knowledge of Azure and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with RAG patterns, vector search, and LLM evaluation techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• BA/BS in IT/IS, CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement staff-facing AI experiences using governed enterprise data.
• Own AI tooling selection, engineering standards, and integrations for internal AI solutions.
• Develop reusable core components: prompts, retrieval patterns, tool calling, guardrails, and secure data access adapters.
• Architect and manage Azure runtime, compute, and observability for production AI services.
• Ensure governance, security, and responsible AI guardrails are followed.
• Enable staff adoption through practical enablement materials and training.
