Job summary

Thomson Reuters Labs seeks a Research Engineer to advance AI/ML capabilities that transform how legal, accounting, and government professionals work worldwide. You will design, build, and deliver data-driven solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes scalable ML systems, large-scale data pipelines, and production-ready code. You will partner with cross-functional teams, explore new AI techniques, and communicate results clearly while delivering end-to-end features

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 2 years software engineering experience, ideally in ML and NLP.
• Experience with Python and related ecosystems.
• Ability to deploy ML capabilities into production.
• Familiarity with Python data science stack: NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Dask, spaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Familiarity with probabilistic models and ML concepts.
• Proficiency in automation, monitoring, and cloud-native apps (AWS or Azure).
• Exposure to NLP problems: NER, Information Extraction, etc.
• Ability to translate between research and engineering.
• Ability to productionize ML solutions.
