Job summary

SMX is seeking a Full Stack AI Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable AI-enabled web applications and cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS technologies. The hybrid role supports a Hanover, MD program.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, expertise in React and Python/Node.js, and is proficient with AWS cloud deployments and AI integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
• Experience developing modern web applications using React and Python/Node.js.
• Experience deploying cloud-native applications in AWS environments.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures.
• Build and maintain user interfaces using React and related front-end technologies
• Develop backend services, APIs, serverless functions, and integrations using Python and/or Node.js
• Integrate AI and machine learning services such as Amazon Bedrock and other LLM platforms into enterprise applications
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI orchestration capabilities
• Support deployment automation, monitoring, and operational sustainment of AI-enabled systems
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure solutions
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements and cloud governance using AWS IAM and related controls
• Support DevSecOps including CI/CD pipelines and cloud cost management
