Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Data Scientist - AI to design, develop, and deploy AI and data science solutions for public sector clients in a hybrid delivery model. You will apply Generative AI, LLMs, and retrieval-augmented generation to create measurable business value.

You will collaborate with stakeholders and engineers, ensuring governance, security, and scalable AI deployments while advancing client outcomes across regulated industries.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and modern DS/ML libraries (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience delivering AI/ML solutions in a commercial or enterprise setting.
• Hands-on with Generative AI tech: LLMs, RAG, embeddings, semantic search, prompt engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and LLM APIs/e ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI and Data Science solutions across client engagements.
• Deliver Generative AI use cases including RAG and semantic search.
• Translate business problems into production-ready AI solutions.
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Support operationalisation of AI solutions via APIs, MLOps, and cloud platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior practitioners.
