Job summary

Stanford University, Department of Medicine, seeks a Software Developer 2 to build AI research tools for the NHLBI AI Data Science Center.

Develop reproducible agentic AI workflows for biomedical and clinical research data and lead the implementation of research software integrations and deployment workflows, working with researchers, clinicians, and engineers to turn emerging AI capabilities into practical software that advances research in heart, lung, blood, and sleep health.

Qualifications

• Expertise designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
• Proficiency with application design and data modeling.
• Ability to define and solve logical problems for technical applications.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical clients.
• Ability to lead activities on structured team development projects.
• Ability to select, adapt, and use a variety of programming methods.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize design, implement, and develop solutions for complex systems/programs.
• Work with a variety of users to gain information and develop intra-system tradeoffs between different users.
• Document system builds and configurations; maintain and update documentation.
• Provide technical analysis, design, development, conversion, and implementation work.
• Lead projects of moderate complexity when needed.
• Serve as a technical resource for applications.
• Evaluate and integrate new features and technologies into computing environment.
• Follow team software development methodology.
• Mentor junior software developers.
