Job summary

Morningstar, a leader in independent investment research, is seeking an Advertising Sales Operations Analyst in Chicago. The role focuses on data-driven sales support, forecasting, and process optimization to empower the advertising sales team across global operations.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams, leverage Salesforce for data integrity, and utilize Excel and BI tools to deliver actionable insights, while supporting growth initiatives and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in sales operations or related field.
• Hands-on experience administering, maintaining, and reporting from Salesforce is required.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI, Tableau, etc.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
• Bachelor's Degree
• Interest in investing, financial services, and/or publishing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy and integrity of sales pipeline data in Salesforce and other systems.
• Support forecasting, reporting, and BI activities that help leadership monitor performance.
• Track advertising sales bookings and provide visibility into trends and revenue opportunities.
• Coordinate internal sales communications for timely access to relevant information.
• Analyze market opportunities, competitive trends, and performance data for strategic decisions.
• Support lead management processes, reporting, and lead quality measurement.
• Maintain sales enablement resources, documentation, playbooks, and team knowledge repositories.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, efficiency, and data quality.
• Partner with Product, Client Service, Advertising Operations, and Finance to support successful execution of initiatives.
