Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites an Advanced Practice Provider to support the Florence Pulmonology and Critical Care program. The role includes inpatient, outpatient, ICU responsibilities, and collaboration with a supervising physician to deliver high-quality care in a hybrid model.

The ideal candidate will hold SC licensure as a PA or ACNP/ACNP and ACLS certification, with hospital medicine/ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner candidates must be licensed or eligible, with prior hospital medicine and/or ICU experience preferred.
• Currently licensed (or eligible) in the state of South Carolina as a Physician Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the SC Board of Nursing.
• Requires certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). If ACLS is not current, provider must enroll and have received certificate by start date.
• APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
• DHEC and DEA license

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results.
• Initiates referrals to other health care providers, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician.
• Documents and bills for direct care provided.
• Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members
