Job summary

The School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor, Epidemiology & Biostatistics. The successful candidate will teach Biostatistics using a mix of online and in-person instruction, with problem-based learning, team projects, and active discussions.

Responsibilities include overseeing the learning environment, preparing course materials, and providing student advisement to monitor progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree or Doctoral Candidate or equivalent in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, or Data Science.
• Graduate-level teaching, teaching fellow or TA experience.
• Experience using online learning management systems.
• Satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Biostatistics course.
• Incorporate online and in-person engagement, problem-based learning, team projects, and discussions.
• Manage learning environment, instructional activities, course materials, and online grading system.
• Provide student advisement, review program/course outcomes criteria with students; provide guidance and support student progress.
• Evaluate students through class participation, assignments, and exams.
