Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) seeks qualified adjunct faculty for Electronics/Manufacturing to teach introductory and advanced courses. The role emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning with current microcontrollers, CNC, laser cutting, and CAD/CAM tools in well-equipped labs.

Instructors will deliver face-to-face instruction with possible remote elements, require a Bachelor’s or Associate degree and two years of related experience, and will help prepare students for certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate in a related field with proven teaching competency
• Two years of related occupational experience required
• Experience with electronics and manufacturing is essential
• Ability to troubleshoot electronics, microcontrollers, and basic circuitry
• Knowledge of ISM communications protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, RF LoRa)
• Experience with CAD/CAM and machine operation for manufacturing labs

Responsibilities

• Teach electronics and manufacturing courses in a hands-on format
• Develop project-based modules aligned with industry skills
• Prepare students for electronics and mechatronics exams
• Manage lab spaces, equipment, and supplies
• Contribute to curriculum development and online teaching as needed
• Work with diverse student populations and adapt to schedule needs
