Job summary

Encova Insurance will have a need for an Intern, Actuarial for our Columbus, Ohio or Charleston, WV office locations. This will be a hybrid working opportunity with in office days each week for the summer of 2027, requiring 40 hours per week.

As an intern, you will join a dynamic team and gain exposure to pricing, analytics, and reporting tasks while learning real-world actuarial practices in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Completed at least 60 credit hours.
• Hybrid in-office schedule in Columbus, OH or Charleston, WV.

Responsibilities

• Develop rate indications following standard actuarial practices.
• Review rating plan components using profitability data.
• Prepare rate filings and interact with state insurance departments as needed.
• Validate large account pricing models for underwriters.
• Assist pricing indications on large accounts.
• Support management reporting and analytics under product actuarial guidance.
• Conduct reserve reviews using traditional methods and update results.
• Extract, merge and validate transactional datasets from various sources.
