Job summary

The Rigby at UW–Madison is seeking a Local Work Study Student to support the accounting team with weekly and monthly financial reports, reconciliation tasks, and expense tracking. This hybrid, off-campus work-study position offers partial remote work with occasional in-person meetings at our home-base in Madison.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Accounting/Finance-related degrees, with strong attention to detail, comfort with numbers, and a desire to learn new accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in accounting/finance/business-related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable handling numbers and financial data.
• Able to meet weekly and monthly deadlines.
• Protect confidential information.
• Willingness to learn new accounting software.
• Previous bookkeeping or admin experience helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Excel/Sheets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports.
• Match, review, and categorize transactions.
• Assist with bank reconciliations.
• Track bills, expenses, invoices, and payments.
• Assist with budgeting and payroll.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Follow procedures and meet deadlines.
• Support process improvements and ad-hoc projects.
