Job summary

Uber is seeking an A/V Engineer to architect, implement, and support advanced A/V systems across our global office footprint. This hands‑on role sits in the Digital Experience team and requires scripting, configuration, testing, and cross‑functional collaboration with product, IT, and vendors.

Design scalable A/V solutions, build observability, mentor engineers, and contribute to runbooks and SOPs. For San Francisco, base salary ranges USD 153,000–170,000 per year; bonuses and equity may apply

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and high‑performing A/V solutions in complex environments.
• Write, test, and maintain configuration scripts and automation to deploy A/V systems.
• Proactively monitor and improve A/V system reliability with observability and dashboards.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to escalations to minimize downtime.
• Lead design discussions and create architecture artifacts (diagrams, ERDs).
• Review peers’ configurations and raise the quality bar across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal docs and runbooks.
• Partner with Workplace, IT, and Product to translate requirements into designs.
• Identify technical debt and propose optimization solutions.
• Represent A/V in forums and assist in recruiting and interviewing.
