Job summary

DESE Research, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks an HWIL Electrical Integration & Test Engineer to ensure the successful physical connectivity, wiring interface layout, and instrumentation routing of the lab test rig. The role requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and a security clearance.

The candidate will plan, design, develop, and verify complex electrical interfaces, grounding networks, EMI, and data bus layouts, with duties spanning from wire harness documentation to EGSE setup.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related discipline.
• Experience with electrical harness drafting, lab bench wiring, or deployment of diagnostic tools.
• 5+ years of electrical integration, including wiring schematic maps and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with physical connector safety and shielding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with system requirements for design and development of electrical interface connections for test support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-speed signal distribution panels.
• Define and document wire harness schematics, pinning charts, and EGSE setups.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, grounding rules, and lab safety guidelines.
• Support test plans and procedures to verify physical loopback connections and signal integrity; troubleshoot power issues during validation.
