Job summary

Nokia's Dallas R&D center seeks a talented HW Engineer to join the Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) team, bridging DPD algorithms and HW design for robust radio products. You will push algorithm accuracy and address dynamic PA behavior while collaborating closely with the HW design group.

Responsibilities include leading DPD development, evaluating DPD engines, and implementing production-grade DPD software on radio HW, with rigorous testing across dynamic and static conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience modeling nonlinear systems and graduate-level DSP.
• Proficiency in RF power amplifier design and RF circuits.
• Understanding of 3GPP and FCC standards.
• Experience with FPGA or ASIC design and programming.
• Strong skills in Matlab, Python, and C++. Git for version control.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of DPD algorithms with focus on modeling accuracy and bandwidth.
• Address dynamic PA behavior under varying signal excitations.
• Interface between DPD and HW design teams for seamless collaboration.
• Analyze radios to select suitable DPD engine for each product.
• Work with radio HW team on DFE/AFE and feedback paths.
• Provide feedback to DPD team for continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot across the radio lifecycle with engineering rigor.
• Develop understanding of DFE architecture to implement DPD designs.
• Implement production-grade DPD software on radio hardware.
• Test radios for DPD and HW robustness under dynamic and static conditions.
