Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises is seeking a Hardware Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced antenna systems in Redmond, WA. You will own or contribute to multiple design blocks, prototype Proof-of-Concept systems, and work with the RF team on circuit design.

This role involves leading PCB layouts, building automated test setups, bringing up active antenna hardware, and running bring-up campaigns.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience with prototyping and implementation.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.
• Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.

Responsibilities

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be a part of the team of experts working on the development of advanced antenna systems. You will own or contribute to the following:

• Design and optimization of different blocks of antennas system
• Design the proof of concept systems and prototypes for the next generation of the antennas
• Design of RF circuitry in collaboration with RF team
• Design of automated test systems, test fixtures and factory test
• Bring-up and test campaigns of the active antennas
• Lead and review PCB layout

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
