Job summary

Tech24 is seeking an HVACR technician in San Diego to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, independence, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, EPA Universal Certification, and the ability to read manuals, diagrams, and blueprints. A valid license and tools are required; company vehicle and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical diagnostics, airflow systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters.
• Own industry standard hand tools.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, low boys, display cases, prep tables, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
• Install, replace, and commission HVAC and refrigeration systems as needed.
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment issues, repair recommendations, and preventative maintenance plans.
• Maintain EPA compliance and adhere to all local, state and federal safety regulations.
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked.
• Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service.
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities.

Position Summary

As part of the UST team and broader Tech24 network, the HVACR technician plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring customers' operations run efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently while representing the company with professionalism and integrity. Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $35-$42. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, manufacture certifications, or specialized expertise may be considered at the higher end of the range.
