Job summary

Baker Distributing is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support inventory management, order picking, and shipping in a fast-paced HVAC distribution environment.

You will handle order preparation, inspections, loading/unloading, and ongoing warehouse maintenance while following safety protocols and using PPE as required. A strong customer-service mindset and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may substitute.
• Demonstrated experience with HVAC equipment in a wholesale distribution setting.
• Background in sales, operations, purchasing, or inventory management preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, problem-solving, and relationship-building.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
• Demonstrated interest in continuous learning, mentoring, and leadership.
• Mechanical or technical experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools; assistive technologies may be used to support this function.
• A valid driver’s license is required only if driving is an essential function of the role.

Responsibilities

• Pick and verify orders for customers.
• Conduct Quality Inspections to verify received, picked, and shipped products.
• Daily loading and unloading of products in truck for delivery to customers and/or other Centers.
• Receive, inspect, and stock all merchandise.
• Prepare orders for shipment as needed.
• Responsible for daily truck and forklift maintenance checklist.
• Assist management with inventory counts and daily warehouse upkeep.
• Adhere to warehouse safety protocols and PPE usage.
• Report safety hazards or incidents immediately to management.
• Participate in regular safety training sessions and drills.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of all products to prevent accidents.
• Follow guidelines for safe operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
