Job summary

Black Diamond Experts is seeking an HVAC Tune-Up Technician to perform seasonal maintenance and system inspections across Salt Lake City, UT and surrounding areas. You will diagnose issues, communicate energy-saving tips, and document system conditions to support reliable operation.

The role requires 1–3 years in HVAC maintenance, EPA 608 certification, and a valid driver’s license. Travel up to 50% is expected with utilities to service residential and commercial sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of HVAC trade school or technical program preferred.
• EPA Section 608 certification required; NATE certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and tune-ups on HVAC systems, including cleaning, inspecting, testing, and calibrating equipment.
• Inspect, clean, and adjust components such as condensers, blowers, coils, and filters.
• Diagnose potential issues during tune-ups and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements.
• Educate customers on system performance, energy efficiency, and maintenance best practices, communicating clearly to build trust.
• Document work performed, system condition, and recommendations for each job.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe, clean, working condition, following EPA and HVAC safety codes.
• Assist with emergency service calls or installations as needed.
