Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC servicemen to join our Wilmington, NC team. You will commission, service and maintain commercial heating and cooling systems, advising customers on comfort and efficiency enhancements.

We provide factory certification through the Service Technical Academy and a company vehicle. The role includes weekend, night and holiday on-call rotations; a High School diploma and EPA certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years Commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance and repair of three phase commercial HVAC equipment, RTUs, Heat Pumps and Fans.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Be willing to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems and provide quotes.
• Identify enhancements for system reliability and sustainability during service.
• Participate in weekend, night, and holiday call out service on a rotating basis.

What you will do

Johnson Controls the leading Building Technology OEM for Healthcare, Manufacturing, Higher Education, K12 and Commercial Real Estate is seeking skilled HVAC Servicemen to join our growing business. How will you do it

We provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA) with milestone recognition and monetary rewards and advancement. You will have direct access to Factory Technical Support. We will equip you with the safety equipment, uniforms, tools, cell phone, technical equipment and vehicle required for your job.

You will perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems and recommend solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently. You will identify enhancements that will provide customer systems reliability and sustainability at the time of service and provide labor and material quotes to support your recommendations. We provide incentives for executed recommendations you quote. You will participate in weekend, night, and holiday call out service on a rotating basis.

What we look for

Required

• Adherence to the company Safety Program.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Two (2) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and repair of three phase Commercial HVAC equipment, RTU’s, Heat Pumps and Fans

• A valid driver’s license

• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Be willing to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters.

Preferred

• Five (5) years of Commercial and or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry

• Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and minor repair pumps, VFD’s, Air Handling Units, and Rooftop units.

Pay Range: $30.59 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
