What you will do

How will you do it

We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics with practical work experience in their trade, including HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, and/or mechanical equipment service industry.

Mechanics should have hands-on experience with light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. Passing a skills assessment examination may be required. The scope of work is limited to commercial HVACR service. Mechanics may partner with Journeymen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, repairs, and replacements on commercial heating and cooling systems.

You will deliver top-tier service to our customers, solving facility inefficiencies and resolving service issues. As a trusted advisor, you will provide solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service, including upselling opportunities. You will also prepare quotes to support your recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

Required

  • Be a dedicated team member willing to learn and responsible for system troubleshooting, repairs, and aftermarket services within our fast-growing business.
  • Membership in or willingness to join a local Union.
  • At least three (3) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including work on rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing.
  • Mechanical shaft alignment skills using dial indicators for pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Ability to use vibration equipment for troubleshooting driveline issues.
  • Willingness to travel 10% to 20% to support customer activities, troubleshooting, installation, and repairs.
  • Ability to pass a knowledge examination to demonstrate proficiency.
  • Interest in career development, including enrolling in training programs to deepen HVAC product knowledge and sales quoting skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with local mechanics, servicemen, and apprentices.
  • Strong interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills to effectively identify and explain problems, causes, and corrective actions.
  • Capability to provide quotes and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for learning and applying new skills on the job.
  • Commitment to prioritizing safety in all activities.
  • Valid driver's license, universal EPA refrigerants license, and any applicable state or local licenses.
